Teague Caught Hiding Truth About Healthcare/Bailout Record & Teague Welcomes Obama
Harry Teague is at it again. Knowing his liberal voting record on helping to pass Obamacare, and his own actions with the employees of his companies, won’t win him any votes, Harry has taken to lying in order to save his own job.
In a recent article/interview with the Cibola Beacon, Teague did the “Teague Two-Step” with the paper’s editorial board on his record on Obamacare and the bailouts. “Teague believes that everyone should have health insurance. As a young man, Teague had to quit high school because both his parents got sick at the same time and the family wasn’t insured. Later, after building a business, he worked to provide all of his employees with health insurance and educational benefits. Teague voted against the health insurance reform bill because he felt it didn’t do enough to reduce costs or take on the big insurance companies.”
Yet, what Teague doesn’t mention is how he eliminated all healthcare coverage for all of his employees while TAKING A $3 MILLION DOLLAR PERSONAL BONUS AT THE SAME TIME (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0510/36986.html). Teague also failed to tell the truth about his voting FIVE TIMES to advance socialized healthcare though he voted against it on the final vote to give himself political cover back in New Mexico (Roll Call Votes 159, 160, 162, 163, 165 on March 21, 2010 to HR 4872. thomas.loc.gov).
The Cibola Beacon’s article/interview also details what Harry Teague considers to be ‘helping the economy’. The following was reported:
“Since being in Washington, Teague has focused on rebuilding southern New Mexico’s economy and he believes a way to do it is to grow the local economy by putting state residents back to work. The new Nimitz Bridge is a project that was made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which Teague has supported. He has also been a big supporter of the Red Mesa wind farm near Seboyeta.”
WOW. Harry Teague has voted FOR EVERY STIMULUS BILL, EVERY BAILOUT AND EVERY BIG GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER that Pelosi and Obama have put in front of him. What have we gotten for it? $862 BILLION dollars in debt and no REAL jobs. No REAL private sector capital gains or development. Wasn’t the summer of 2010 supposed to be the summer of recovery? Apparently, to Harry Teague, we are on the ‘right track’. Yet, Harry Teague continues to oppose limiting the size and power of government, repealing job-killing regulations and lowering taxes on working New Mexicans which is what really creates jobs.
So, why is Harry Teague not being honest about his true voting record as a member of Nancy Pelosi’s left-wing majority? Because he knows that if he is honest then he will not be re-elected. Which begs the next question….why does Harry Teague feel the need to hide how he votes?
